Ko Phayam

The minute kangaroo-formed island of Ko Phayam offers fine white-sand shorelines and coral reefs and is home to around 500 individuals, a large portion of whom either make their living from prawn, squid or crab angling, or from developing cashew nuts, sator beans, coconut palms and elastic trees. In light of its streets, Ko Phayam has a somewhat more created feel than neighboring Ko Chang, underlined by a calm shoreline bar scene – all hand-painted signs and driftwood figures – and the habitations of a critical number of outsiders who burn through six or more months here       consistently.
